Kim Pirie
Founder & Board Member
MBA, BA Honours
Kim Pirie founded North Point School for Boys in 2014. Initially, her three sons and their friends were her inspiration – seeing too many bright, capable, energetic boys leaving high school with limited options because the traditional classroom model had failed them. After much encouragement from family and friends, she teamed up with Brent Devost and together they set out to create a school model that caters to the way boys learn and behave.
Since its inception in 1993, Kim has been the Managing Director of the Pirie Foundation, a private foundation that focuses on investment in education, a role she continues in tandem with her North Point responsibilities. Prior to that she was Manager of Exploration and Corporate Affairs at Sabre Energy Ltd., and from 1987 to 1991, she worked as a Geologist with Shell Canada. Kim has three sons and has been an active volunteer and advocate for their education in their respective schools.

Stacey Bjornson
TEACHER
BBA, B. Ed.
With a decade of work experience in the hospitality industry and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree under her belt, Stacey decided to pursue another of her passions—educating.
After completing her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Calgary in 2018, Stacey hit the ground running, teaching grades one and four in a Calgary Board of Education Science Program. Here, she revelled in the facilitation of exploration and learning in the natural world. As an Educator, Stacey believes strongly in a hands-on, land-based and experiential learning approach and follows a relationship first philosophy.
Stacey partially credits her childhood experience of growing up in rural Alberta for her curiosity and love of nature, as well as summers in the Kootenays camping and adventuring with her family. A proud member of the Métis Nation of Alberta, she loves learning about the vibrant culture of her ancestors. From a young age she was also influenced by her parents, who both have social work backgrounds.
Stacey is passionate about exploration in her down-time, too. When she isn’t working, she is camping, fishing, walking her boisterous dogs Obie and Russ, snowboarding, hiking, snowmobiling, or partaking in any number of other outdoor activities. Her husband, Jay, is a trained geologist and rock enthusiast—and her many adventures with him teach her more about the way boys learn every day.
Stacey is excited to start her career at North Point School for Boys and can’t wait to be part of the adventures that ensue!

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge in 2016, she has taught preschool through grade 12 students throughout Southern Alberta and in London, England. Some of her favourite activities include: kayaking, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, dirt biking, and backcountry camping.
