This week we had our first Townhall and it was great to recognize the upstanding character of many of our Navigators – from grade ones who were Resilient in working on their sight words to the grade nines who are rising up to be the Responsible leaders we know they can be! Picture day (individual, class and school-wide photos) will be on WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 23rd from 8:45 to 11:00am. Being a Wednesday and “picture day” all students are expected to be in their formal uniform. The date for re-takes will be sometime in November and will be announced later. Please note, this date has been changed from what was previously published on the calendar.

ADHD – “Students at Risk”
Topics to be discussed: Gaming / Homework / Emotional Regulation / Social Skills / Risky Behaviors / Etc.
This presentation is free to attend and open to North Point families and the general community – bring a friend!

FRI Sept. 27 ACTION FRIDAY – Terry Fox Run
Join us for the annual Terry Fox run starting at 2pm for the whole school. We will all gather in the Learning Commons for a Terry Fox video and explanation of the purpose of the run. We will then proceed outside for a quick stretch and then begin the run at approximately 2:30. Everyone should be finished by 3:15pm and there will be a special treat! Students may bring a contribution to the school or may make a donation online at: http://www.terryfox.ca/NorthPointSchoolforBoys. Our goal for this year is $4,000.
We are still in need of 4 volunteers to help along the running route. Please contact Mr. Kostecki if you can help out.
Dress for the weather as this will be held outside, RAIN/SNOW or SHINE!

A select group of grades 7-9 boys will tee off first thing in the morning and be taken to Blue Lake after they are done. Good luck Navigators!
Oct. 2-4 – Annual Retreat for Grades 4-9
Grades 7-9 are going to Columbia Outdoor School (Blue Lake) near Columbia Lake, BC and will be leaving early at 8:00am. The Grades 4-6 are going to Camp Goldeye near Nordegg, AB and will depart at 8:45am. Both groups will leave from the school.
The packing list is in the packages that went home earlier. The weather looks like it will be on the cool side so make sure your boys have enough warm clothes along.

Cross Country Running
Competitions took place Wednesday September 18th and 25th. North Point was represented by Nic Spagnolo, Liam Beswick, Brody Friesen, Thomas Mousseau, Mikaill Jarvis, Dom Kostecki , and jr. Cross Country assistant Maximilliano Calatayud. They worked incredibly hard and did very well in their races! Thank you Coach Fagan for coaching them.
Golf
The CISAA golf tournament is Oct. 2 at Springbank Links Golf Course (125 Hackamore Trail, Calgary, AB T3Z 1C2). Those boys who are participating will still go on the Annual Retreat. They will golf early and be taken out to the Retreat after they are done.

- Monday’s from 3:30 pm till 4:30 pm.
- Practice on Wednesday’s during recess; start time 12:15 pm.

- Wednesdays from 3:30 pm till 4:30 pm.
- Practice on Wednesday’s during recess; start time 12:15 pm.
Please note if recess and after school practices may change due to certain circumstances or events then parents/students will be notified via e-mail. On any days where school is cancelled or not open, then practice will be cancelled as well.
