November 4, 2021

Today the Grade 8 boys, along with Mr. Qureshi and Mr. Devost were at Dunvegan Gardens for a garlic planting extravaganza and moving a ton of bails!  The boys showed a Relentless work ethic and were Respectful of Dunvegan, Granary Road, our Dunvegan leaders, our teammates and the soil! Lunch was graciously provided by Shawn Black and Dunvegan Gardens team – a nice hot soup and a sandwich were on the menu!

K-Gr. 5 Progress Reports

Grades K-5 are excited to be offering Progress Reports happening this November, February along with a final report card in June.

Classroom teachers will contact families about any difficulties students may be experiencing.

Should you have any questions regarding your son’s progress, please contact your teacher directly.

Thank you,

The K-5 team

Poppy Box

Poppy’s are now available by donation in the front office.  We strongly encourage our North Point Community to support this vital campaign for our veterans and current military personnel.

They are available at any time during the school day for students, staff and parents to support.

Dunvegan Gardens Farmers Market Box Fundraiser

As part of our Farm-to-Table partnership with Dunvegan Gardens, we have the opportunity for students to sell Market Box subscriptions and raise funds for North Point at the same time. Each subscription is worth $5.00 towards North Point, and for every box they continue to subscribe to North Point will continue to collect the $5.00 per subscription.  Here are the details:

Dunvegan Gardens wants to provide your family with better options, by creating a better food system that reconnects you with where your food comes from. We offer fruits and veggies that are grown right here in Alberta and BC and make it convenient to purchase at our online marketplace.

This box of FRESH items is put together with your family in mind. The content varies depending on the week’s harvest but it will always have some old faithfuls and some new things to try.

What’s In The Box?

    Large Box

  • Approximately 18-22 lbs. of mixed vegetables, fruits and canning/preserve specials
  • Serves up to 5 people for one week

     Small Box

  • Approximately 13-17 lbs. of mixed vegetables, fruits and canning/preserve specials
  • Serves up to 2 people for one week

How it works

We will be sending out a link to flyers that our students can hand out to family and friends. This flyer will have detailed instructions on how your friends and family can get a Market Box delivered right to their door as well as a special Promo code on it that identifies North Point, and your son’s Navigator Squad.  The Promo Code will be connected to their Navigator Squads to allow for some team rivalry.  From the codes, Dunvegan Gardens will be able to identify which squad gets credit for the funds raised.

Alberta Health Services survey request

We have been asked to share the following information from the Alberta Health Services Community Engagement division with our school:

On October 18 Health Canada received a submission from Pfizer-BioNTech seeking authorization for the use of its Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine in children 5 to 11 years of age. As with all COVID-19 vaccines, Health Canada will prioritize the review of this submission, while maintaining its high scientific standards for safety, efficacy, and quality. Read the statement from Health Canada. At this time, the vaccine is approved ONLY for children 12 years and over.

In order to be prepared for Health Canada’s decision, Alberta Health Services wants to hear from Alberta parents of children between the ages of 5 and 11.

Please Take the Survey Here ; we desire to hear from as many Alberta parents as possible (survey closes Nov. 8).
