Town Hall

On Tuesday, we had our monthly Town Hall during which some of our young men were recognized for exemplifying 5R Character. Boys were applauded for being Responsible, Relentless and Resilient. In addition, we had a draw from all the Rs given out to boys who displayed 5R character this month. The winner of the draw was Lochlan D. and the prize was 10 VIP tickets to the Calgary Police Interpretive Centre. Next month’s prize will be tickets to a Calgary Roughnecks game.

We Need Candy Canes!

Deadline: Thursday, December 5

In the spirit of giving back to the community, we are asking each family to send in two boxes of long-stem candy canes. We will attach messages of goodwill to our community, tie them to the candy cane and distribute these out to our surrounding community before the winter break. Please send these to school by Thursday, December 5. Thanks for your help.


Stephen’s Backpacks

HELP US HELP OTHERS! We want to collect as many items as possible for the Stephen’sBackpacks Campaign to fill as many backpacks as we can for the homeless this Christmas. If you’d like to donate items or fill a backpack yourself we greatly appreciate it! Let’s give back this holiday season from North Point!

All items donated must be NEW. Personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc. should be new. Other ideas include gift cards, travel mug, small fuzzy throws/blankets, socks, mittens, hats, scarves, non-perishable treats, gum. Please do not include alcohol-based items please. Items can be dropped off at the main office until Thursday, December 12. Thank you!


Food Bank Donations

We are collecting non-perishable food items for the Calgary Food Bank. We will have a box near the office to put your donations in. We will be accepting donations until Tuesday, December 17.

Top needs:

  • Canned Meat (Turkey, Chicken, Ham, Tuna)
  • Kraft Dinner
  • Canned Pasta Sauce
  • Peanut Butter
  • Cereal

Contest Winners

Mr. White held another contest this week for Construction and Building Codes. There was a three-way tie among the grades 8/9s who were awarded Squad Points for their efforts. Good work boys!


To enhance their unit on Investing in Stocks, Bonds & Funds, the boys in Grades 6-9 started playing the Stock Market Game this week. To find out more, take a look at this PDF.



ATHLETICS & SQUADS

Navigators Squads

At our Town Hall this week, each squad revealed their new flag and performed their cheer. It was a tight race and 100 squad points were on the line for each. The Mountaineers won in the flag category and the Astronauts won in the cheer category.
