Photo of the week: Mother’s Day tea! Thank you to all everyone who could make the time to attend our Mother’s Day tea. It was huge success and there may have been a few Kleenex’s used during the boy’s “I Love You Mom” videos! Wow – HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY. It all ended on a great note with the boys giving their mom’s a big hug. Special thanks to Ms. Jenn for spearheading this and everyone who helped out.
Business Fair volunteers are needed – see below for details. Things are heating up as the boys get their products ready for the June 1 Business Fair. Good luck to everyone as they prepare.
It was great to see everyone at the Checkpoint Meetings this past week. We have two short weeks coming up with the long weekend. The next to the Point bulletin will be sent on May 26. Now that the weather is improving the boys will be outside more so please send appropriate clothes/footwear.
Please join us in welcoming a new student – Patrick Corbett and his family to the North Point family. Patrick starts in Grade 2 on Monday May 13 ! We are excited to have him join Ms. Jenn’s class.

All North parents are invited to please join us Thursday May 30, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. for the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of North Point Society (FNPS), held at North Point School. We will review the year and look ahead to 2019-20. There will be elections for the FNPS 2019-20 Executive Committee. We will follow the AGM with a regular FNPS meeting immediately after.
During the AGM, we will hold elections for the Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. All positions are for a one year term.
In the case where we may have more than one nominee for a position, each nominee will be allowed to present themselves to the audience and a vote will decide that position. You may only nominate a parent for a position if they have been asked prior to the meeting and are willing to have their name put forward. If you are not able to make the meeting, but are interested in a position, you may send a friend to stand in your place at the meeting for the nomination.
It is imperative that we have the positions held by a representative to ensure that we are able to meet quorum and have as many voices in our meetings as possible.
If you have any questions or wish to put your name forward for an executive position, please contact Maureen Appel at firstname.lastname@example.org. See you all on May 30 at 7 p.m.
The Financial Academy is going on a field trip ! Mr. Groberman has organized a trip for all students to the ATB Entrepreneurship Centre on May 23, 2019. Details are on the North Point calendar. Special thanks to ATB and Sandi MacGregor, Entrepreneur Strategist with ATB, for making this possible.
We will need volunteers to help setup on Friday May 31 for a few hours (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Saturday June 1 starting at 7:30 a.m and with tear down starting at 2:00 p.m. If you can help with either day for any amount of time, please let us know – you can sign-up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0A45A8A822A2FD0-4thannual.
