Student Perspective

Percy Jackson

by Riley Chapman

Does your son need to start reading? Or maybe needs a new book series? Well I have a solution for you! Percy Jackson!

Percy Jackson is a book series about Greek mythology, and also is a thrilling and exciting series. So not only is your son reading, but he’s actually learning about Greek mythology too! Also, to keep your son’s mind intrigued, there are many battles with swords, bows and even catapults!

There are 5 books in the first series (there are multiple series). The first book, The Lightning Thief, is about how Percy is united with the other half-bloods like him (half god half human), and learns about the Greek culture. But… there is also a huge battle between Percy and the gods! By reading the title of the book, it’s pretty obvious what the battle was about.

I don’t want to spoil it too much so I will tell you a little bit about the main characters in the book. There’s of course Percy Jackson, Chiron the centaur, Annabeth another half blood, and Grover the satyr (half man half goat). Some of the monsters are the hellhounds, skeletons, and cyclops (man with one eye)!

I would really recommend this book series! My favorite book is definitely Book 5, The Last Olympian. The second series is also great. It’s called The Heroes Of Olympus.

Stay tuned for my next article!
