March 17, 2022

A group of students and parents had a blast cheering on the Edmonton Stingers who completed a sweep of two of the top teams from Latin America on Wednesday night, defeating Real Estelí of Nicaragua 88-79 to complete its Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA) home stand at WinSport Arena. Happy St. Paddy’s Day

The Gr. K-2 were all dressed in green today and set an amazing trap where they hoped to catch a leprechaun. The Gr. 3/4 class made some leprechaun traps yesterday which showcased their creativity and enthusiasm.

Physical Education

As we are eager to have a couple of weeks off for Spring Break, it has been exciting and even inspiring to see the amount of activity around the North Point School in athletics and PE! The warmer weather has allowed for some creative play and many amazing moments outside and in nature!

In PE class this week, in Gr. 5, 6, 7 and 8 we have continued to focus on badminton as this is one of the next after school Spring sports for our JH and SH.  We will also be also exploring the opportunity of a school floor hockey team and team handball matches in April! Further to this, we have also had the pleasure of having Coach German (Comacho) assist our PE classes (Gr. 5, 3/4 and K-2) with some extra coaching in soccer. Please note that he will be hosting a soccer camp for any interested athletes over the Spring Break (details below).

Finally, on Friday (March 18th), the teacher/student basketball game will take place – thanks again to Mr Qureshi and this will be an amazing way to conclude the entire season.  Good Luck to both sides!
