Our second day of school is traditionally our Fall Navigator Day!
Every North Point student belongs to one of the four Navigators Squads. These Squads, aligned with our 5R character focus, help to build school spirit and a sense of inclusion for all students. A student is assigned to a squad when they first join the school and remains with that squad during their tenure at North Point.
Students across all age groups form a squad and engage in a number of friendly competitive physical and academic/mental activities throughout the year, giving our older students a way to be a mentor to our younger Navigators and give our younger students a chance to interact with the older boys.

Students are not required to attend. You will have a chance to meet the teachers and staff and we can answer your questions about the upcoming school year.
High school parents – Wednesday, September 8th (7:00 pm) at our new High School campus.
K-8 parents – Thursday, September 9th (7:00 pm) at the Main campus.
Last Call for Lost & Found
There is still a large store of Lost & Found items at the school. When the snow starts to fly you may wonder where your son’s boots are. We will have a table of these items displayed during the K-8 Parent Orientation night. After that all items will be donated to charity.
Terry Fox Run
Friday, September 17
“I wanted to set an example that would never be forgotten.”
Terry Fox represented the best that Canadians have to offer. He was an example of courage, humility, determination, and perseverance. From a young age he exemplified these attributes that made him an inspiration for not only Canada, but the entire world.
On Friday, September 17, North Point will join the movement and our students will be the ones to continue Terry’s fight and lead this worthy cause towards Terry’s dream of a world without cancer. This year’s run will take place in the afternoon at Carburn Park. We will be transporting the boys to and from the park. Parents/guardians are welcome to join us. More information about the start time will come in the following weeks.
In past years, our school has done an exceptional job of raising funds for the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope. To donate on our school’s fundraising page please visit: https://secure.terryfox.ca/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?TeamID=946722. You can also set up your son’s own fundraising page from that same link.
Annual Theme – Here we Grow!
Every year we pick a theme that we weave into our daily lives here at North Point that set the tone for our year. This year our theme is “Here we Grow”. HERE WE GROW is all about working, learning, improving and having fun together- starting here at North Point and branching out to make an impact in our communities! So, Here We Grow – into a new year, new challenges and new adventures!
A Heartfelt Thank-You…
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Francesca and Bernard Callebaut, Master Chocolatier, for organizing our coffee and special treats for our Welcome Back “parent tea”! It was great to see so many new faces and families getting to know one another a bit better.
We would like to publish a parent directory for each classroom so that parents, who are interested, can contact one another to arrange play dates or fun activities. This is completely optional. We have sign-up sheets available at parent orientation.
Navigator Squad Shirts
Many Squad Shirts were give to the new boys yesterday. If your son did not receive one, do not fear, we are getting an order of more shirts next week. We will make sure your son gets one when they arrive.
Some of our Navigators have grown significantly since receiving their first Navigator Squad shirt. For those boys who have outgrown their Navigator Squad Shirts, please have them bring their clean shirt (if still in good condition) in and we will exchange it for another size.
Stay tuned…we have an exciting list of both inter-school athletics as well as North Point Intramurals in the works.
Youth Theatre Canada – Calgary will be touring auditions to schools in the area, looking for talented and aspiring students to get involved in the community. This coming Fall 2021 season, as Covid restrictions are eased, they are excited to be presenting Matilda, and would like to add North Point to the audition tour!
