February 10, 2022

The Gr. 6-8s have been taking advantage of the nice weather by walking over to the ODR (Outdoor Rink)  during their Phys. Ed. class for some skating and boot shuffling. However, the skating and outdoor gym had been put on pause for the time being due to the mud and lack of ice. Nice problem to have in the middle of February!

Currie Campus Sneak Peak

Alberta Education Assurance (AEA) surveys

Each year, the government sends surveys to teachers, students and their parents or guardians. The surveys gather feedback on the quality of education provided by school authorities and their schools. The surveys ask the same questions each year to make sure we measure how schools are performing over time.  These surveys typically arrive in February and you have up until Mar 25, 2022 to complete it.

Teachers and students complete surveys online. Parents receive a survey by mail and have the option to complete it online or on paper. Parents with more than one student in an eligible grade will receive a separate survey for each child.  Students complete the online survey in school.

In private schools all students in Grades 4 and above, as well as their parents, are included in the survey. All teachers in these schools receive the survey every year as well.

Responding to the survey is voluntary however as a school we truly value hearing from our parents on this survey. The surveys give important feedback that helps schools improve, so the government encourages Albertans to complete them.

All responses remain anonymous. Results are calculated at the provincial, school authority and school level. Results for groups with fewer than 6 responses are not reported.

SURVEY LINK – https://public.education.alberta.ca/APOS – once you receive your RAC access code/s from Alberta Education, you can use this link to complete the survey.  You will find North Point School for Boys from the drop down menu.  Select “North Point School for Boys (DSEPS) 1982” if your son has a psychological education assessment on file with us or “North Point School for Boys 2318” if not.

Thank you for your support through the Master Chocolat Chocolate Bars sales as well as the subscriptions to the Dunvegan Gardens Farmer’s Market boxes! Both fundraisers are ongoing. If you’d like a few more chocolate bars, just let the front office know. To receive a Farmer’s Market Box, sign up on Dunvegan’s website. (don’t forget to indicate the correct Navigator team!)

Physical Education

In physical education this week at the Richmond Campus, we connected  activities to the winter Olympics in concrete and creative ways. Through discussions, games, and play, we helped with awareness, all around fun and overall. Gr. K-5 played some winter themed games in the gymnasium and the Gr. 6-8 spent the wildly warm weather at the local outdoor rink.

At the Currie Campus, North Point High School had their final training session at WTM Muay Thai which neighbours the high school in Currie Barracks.

The boys learned how to ‘teap’ , kick, punch, elbow and knee in their pad classes and they ended the class very sweaty. Coach Albert and Jason were fantastic with the boys. Check out their webpage for kids or adult classes.
