Utah Adventure

Utah Adventure

Our epic 4500 km journey began at 6:00 am on Thursday morning. With the van, trailer, and minivan packed to the roof, we embarked on our quest. Day 1 found us stopping in Logan, Utah for the night. Day 2 saw us arriving in Canyonlands in the southern part of Utah. This year, we opted for primitive camping, so we were prepared for anything. We spent a full day practicing rappelling with all the kids. Over the next 4 days, the kids explored Blue John, Alcatraz, North Fork, and Goblin’s Lair. Each morning, we rose at 6 am and returned to camp around 4:30 pm after full days of canyoneering. Evenings were filled with exploration, campfires, hot dogs, spike ball, and intense games of UNO. On day seven, we headed into Moab for a long-anticipated shower and a day exploring Arches National Park. Matthew purchased a $10 fishing rod and cast a line into the Colorado River. Within 30 seconds, he was reeling in a 5-pound Catfish. Day 8 saw us heading back to Calgary. After nights in Logan again and Great Falls, we finished our trip with a huge feast at Golden Corral. The weather on our trip was fantastic, and the guides from Stix and Stones Adventures were first-rate. Our group would like to thank Kayd, Cody, Jason, Brent, Shane, and Kelly for their first-class guiding and support over our 6 canyoneering days. We look forward to another epic adventure next year.
