Developing Future Businessmen

Resourceful Young Entrepreneurs

At the annual “Boys in Business” © Business Fair, young entrepreneurs in Grades K-9 showcase and sell their creations to the local community. Join us Saturday June 16, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the 3rd Annual Business Fair.

Hosted by North Point School, this event is the culmination of months of planning and hard work by our students as part of the Financial Academy curriculum. They plan, create and launch a student-business to sell their products or services at this one-day business fair. Students keep the money they earn. In addition, guest judges evaluate each business based on criteria such as booth presentation, interaction with customers, product knowledge and planning.

Businesses in past years have included products or services such as self-made handicrafts, cards, fine arts, toys, fashion accessories, handmade soaps, pet treats, creative games, face painting, magic tricks, singing, or playing an instrument.

The Business Fair allows North Point students to experience the entrepreneurial process, it unites the local community and provides a marketplace for our future businessmen. Over the course of several months, each student decides on their product or service, develops a brand and marketing strategy, and manufactures their product or service to sell at the Business Fair. We encourage all to be creative, successful and profitable in their ventures!

You can help!

It takes a strong community to keep the Business Fair be in a class of it’s own. Here are some ways you can get involved.

It takes a small village…

We are always looking for help before and during the Business Fair. If you can spare some time – any help, big or small is welcome!

Most of the help we need is the day of the event, starting around 7:30 a.m. for setup, then right through until tear down after the event is over at 1:00 p.m.
