In the Fall, the Blue Lake Retreat was another success for the Jr.High Navigators. For some of the students, it was their fourth year at Blue Lake, so they were able to demonstrate leadership to the new students in many ways. Every day the boys prepared the tables for dinner, washed dishes, or cleaned the bathrooms to earn their free time around the camp. This year, we explored new lessons, including shelter building and insect life. Both of these were team-based challenges, so the boys were motivated to compete!
Overall the Staff and teacher chaperones at Blue Lake were very proud of how the boys were able to balance responsibility and play during the three days. Special thanks to the Columbia Outdoor School at Blue Lake for the awesome activities and consistent enthusiasm they provided for the boys.
